Thousands of people have been displaced from their villages and have remained in the internally displaced camps due to ongoing armed conflict between RCSS and combined forces of SSPP, Ta’ang National Liberation Army and UWSA which has started since the end of 2015. In the wake of the military coup in Feb 2021, the issue of internally displaced people in Shan State has worsened. According to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA) about 62,800 people remain displaced Shan State as of 11 April, 2022. This includes 6800 IDPs in Northern Shan and 56,000 IDPs in Southern Shan. Displaced families and children experience a number of challenges in the camps, one of which is access to education. ၂၀၁၅ ခုနစ်မှစတင်ခဲ့သော RCSS နှင့် ပူးတွဲ SSPP, TNLA, UWSA တို့အကြားစစ်ရေး ပဠိပက္ခ၏အကျိုးဆက် အဖြစ်လူထောင်ပေါင်းများစွာ အိုးအိမ်စွန့်ခွာထွက်ပြေးကြရပြီး၊ ယနေ့ထက်တိုင် စစ်ဘေးရှောင်စခန်းများတွင် စစ်ဘေးရှောင်ဘဝနှင့်နေထိုင်နေရဆဲပင်ဖြစ်သည်။ ၂၀၂၁ ဖေဖေါ်ဝါရီလ စစ်ကောင်စီမှ အာဏာသိမ်းမှုဂယက်ကြောင့် ရှမ်းပြည်အတွင်းစစ်ဘေးရှောင်ဦးရေပိုမိုများပြားလာ သည့်အပြင် စစ်ဘေးရှောင်ပြည်သူများ၏ ဘဝသည်လည်းပိုမိုဆိုးလာခဲ့သည်။ ၂၀၂၂ ခုနှစ် ဧပြီလ (၁၁) ရက်နေ့ထုတ်ပြန်သော United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA) ၏အစီရင်ခံစာတွင် ရှမ်းပြည်မြောက်ပိုင်း၌ စစ်ဘေးရှောင်ဦးရေ ၆၈၀၀၊ ရှမ်းပြည် တောင်ပိုင်း၌ ၅၆၀၀၀ ရှိကြောင်းဖေါ်ပြပါရှိသည်။ စစ်ဘေးရှောင်စခန်းများတွင် မှီတင်းနေထိုင်နေကြရသော စစ်ဘေးရှောင်ပြည်သူများသည် ဒုက္ခပေါင်းများစွာနှင့်ရင်ဆိုင်နေကြရပြီး၊ ကလေးသူငယ်များသည်လည်း ပညာသင်ယူနိုင်ခွင့်ခဲယည်းလှပေသည်။ ကလေးသူငယ်များ၏ ပညာရေးအတွက် အကူအညီတောင်းခံလိုပါသည်။ စစ်ဘေးရှောင်ကလေးသူငယ်များ ပညာသင်ယူနိုင်သည့်အခွင့်အရေးများရရှိကြပြီး ကိုယ့်ကိုယ်ကို ယုံကြည်ကိုးစားလာမှုများ ရရှိလာသည့်အပြင်၊ သူတို့ရဲ့လူမှုဘဝယဥ်ကျေးမှုများသိရှိ နားလည်လာနိုင်ရန်အတွက် ဝိုင်းဝန်းကူညီထောက်ပံ့ ကြပါစို့။
